Introducing Stock Heatmap
A stock heatmap is a visual representation of the stock market, where stocks are displayed in a grid format, often categorised by sectors and industries. Each “cell” in the grid represents a different stock, and the colour of the cell indicates the stock’s performance over a specific period. Here’s a breakdown of how it works:
Green typically indicates a stock that has increased in value. Red indicates a stock that has decreased in value. The intensity of the colour often represents the magnitude of the change (darker shades for larger changes).
The size of each cell can represent the market capitalisation of the stock, with larger cells indicating larger companies.
Categorisation: Stock heatmaps are useful tools for quickly assessing market trends and identifying which sectors or stocks are performing well or poorly.
